I'm Charles Gitonga, a full-stack engineer. I build APIs, data systems, developer tools, and web applications — usually with Python and FastAPI on the backend, and TypeScript with Next.js on the frontend.

My interests sit around data: collecting it (web scraping), moving it through a backend cleanly (APIs, async systems, PostgreSQL), and giving other developers typed, well-documented ways to work with it (SDKs, API clients, CLI tools).

I approach engineering as something to be evidenced, not described — I'd rather point to a repository than a claim. That's the idea behind this site: projects, code, and writing doing most of the talking.

I'm particularly drawn to open-source work and developer tooling, and I enjoy projects that involve making an unfamiliar or messy data source usable through a clean API or SDK.
